Vintage Themed Wedding at The Laurel Packinghouse
It’s always an honour and privilege to be part of weddings and events at The Laurel Packinghouse. There is no better venue in the city of Kelowna. It’s safe to say that little is needed to spruce up this venue. It alone is stunning with it’s architecturally beautiful bare-bone structure. The Laurel is the oldest and largest packinghouse in British Columbia and it also serves as a museum for the British Columbia Orchard Industry.
It was so fun to be part of Carley and Graham’s wedding this past September (I’m seen tossing confetti in this photo on the far right side in an orange dress). What a fantastically stylish and fun loving couple. Carley and Graham made their wedding super personalized with adding touches of themselves to every detail of decor, attire and menu. Vintage Origami was privileged to be able to supply vintage rentals and to be part of the decorating for the wedding. Carley is a photographer by hobby and by trade so she requested the use of all 40 plus of my antique cameras.
Not only that but her and her partner love to travel (Italy was their honeymoon destination) so we used a bunch of our inventory globes to set the theme of travel and Europe. These globes, cameras and old books were displayed on our antique card catalogue and vintage trunks.
Carley and her mother hand made a ton of the little wedding details, her mother sewed all of the wedding party dresses- so in commemoration of that we used a Vintage Origami antique Singer sewing machine for the marriage licence table paired with an victorian style chair.
A beautiful wedding and a phenomenal couple. Jessica Zais ( a dear friend of Carley’s) was the photographer for the day. She is by far one of the most professional, detail oriented and fun photographers in the city. Jessica knows how to make a couple feel comfortable right away and client’s of hers see Jessica not only as their loved photographer but also as a trusted friend. Her work will blow you away and this is a taste of it.
Our Vintage Origami old church pew, victorian chairs and antique trunks fit perfectly into the Laurel Packinghouse setting. What a magical event. Thanks Carley and Graham for asking us to be part of your special day.
Thank you Carley for your kind words:
“thank you again… I don’t think I can express in words how much it meant to me to have all of your beautiful treasures, they made the room sparkle and they really added to the day. Whenever I think of our wedding day I’ll think of you.”
