Having your wedding on your own private property takes a bit more heavy lifting in terms of the planning and logistics involved (including some bribing of your neighbours – a bottle of wine goes a long way). However, it creates a really special event where you are celebrating this big life step in a place that is already significant to you and holds so many wonderful memories already.
Julia and Jade decided to do just that and hold their ceremony on their family’s lakeside backyard. Vintage Origami worked alongside planner, Jenny McAlpine Weddings, and florist Jenner at Petal + Vow. The event was beautiful captured by Kevin Trowbridge.
We started with a unique seating plan that Vintage Origami drafted up where the couple were married in the midst of their guests. The groom and groomsmen arrived to the ceremony from boat and entered by walking up the wooden dock.

The guests took a ferry across the lake to the picturesque Fitzpatrick Family Winery for the wedding reception where Vintage Origami setup an elegant tented reception. The design featured a guest seating chart we constructed on site with escort cards including gold wax seals. Tables were named, not numbered, with the name of different wine varietals. As the family were in the kitchen industry we were able to obtain beautiful marble squares which we mortared together for stability and added gold vinyl stickers to denote the table names.
